Mayor Johnson, just have your governor post the comparative analysis of crime rates in your state compared to those "other" states. I've seen the numbers and the smoke and mirrors game of this administration will be put to shame.

Do they give trophies out in Chicago for “most people shot?” Fifty-seven this weekend I read.

This is why the country needs stiffer and more effective gun control.

They’re pretty strict. These days a high schooler can make one from a kit or with a 3D printer (one near me did just that). I like the Second Amendment.

I have no problem with the Second Amendment, First Amendment, or any other Amendments; the fact is that there are Federal laws, and individual states laws, and many of them state laws are relaxed. For example, the following states don’t require a background check for private guns sales. See below. Does that sound like an effective and reasonable law to you?

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania (for long guns), South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming

Sure. However, I’ve no doubt that if you want to buy a gun, you’ll get one irrespective of the law.

In Sweden, incredibly, you can unlike here get your hand on a grenade rather easily. In 2015 I read there were 45 grenade or bombing attacks. In 2016 there were 55. In 2017 there were 39. In 2018, 162. It went down to 97 I think in 2019, & way down during COVID, but it’s rising. I think I read 1/day in January’25. Sweden isn’t an exceptionally large country.

I don’t think you possess the ability to critically think, so I’m going to let you go. Take care.

This discussion went from guns to grenades!!!! 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️. Let’s try to stay on subject, please. We’re discussing the effectiveness and safety of America’s guns laws and legislation, NOT explosives in Sweden. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I was writing about the ease of getting what is supposedly unavailable. I think the rate of violence among registered gun owners is quite low.

China Vietnam & a number of South Asian states are two countries that have solved the problem of ensuring people don’t get what they’re not allowed to have, namely, narcotics. They use the death penalty. Something similar I saw in an African country in which I lived. Lots of widespread poverty but no crime. Reason: punishment made crime never really worth it. I saw a thief get necklaced in a market.

I don’t see implementing that here, of course.

So, you don’t have an issue with widespread poverty???? I have to get back to my work, but this is what I implore you to do, read up on sound morals & ethics, and then let’s have a more thought provoking discussion. Take care, buddy.
