In early September I ordered from Palm Bites, an Arab owned company outside Toronto. What I didn't know was this was just after Trump's 'no minimum' for tariffs. My order was only $75 USD and $10 of that was to cover Palm Bites' tariffs. Long story short, sent by UPS first, wrong documentation and two weeks later UPS destroyed my order. Re-sent by FedEx. Waited, and waited, and waited. Late October received a FedEx notice I had to pay $30 in tariffs!!! Paid the extortion, and waited and waited again. Package finally arrived mid-November 10 weeks after I placed my order.
This is a tax on all of us, not just the corporations.
Anybody who had HS economics class SHOULD remember the basic SUPPLY & DEMAND model & what a TARRIFF is. It's a tax added to the cost of any good outside the US to discourage us to buy & encourage us to buy domestic. When Trump first introduced tariffs, we tried to educate MAGA, we tried to tell them prices will increase, Trump won't pay the extra, someone has to, that someone will be you. They wouldn't listen, didnt care. He brainwashed them to think they were good, it'll help USA-No it was to help Trump, of course. It was the deal he made with all his "friends", the CEOs of the US corps, we stop buying outside US, only buy US, make them richer. He probably took so much money from them, this is how he'd repay them. But of course we knew this wouldn't work. Theres not enuf US comps to SUPPLY all we DEMAND at the PRICES we want. We still NEED to export. Someone has to pay the tariffs & it sure as hell isn't going to be TRUMP or his people. We knew the consumers or companies would have pick up the tax. He only cares about himself - just 1 example of 100s. Now MAGA can finally see what we're talking about. But you think they will? What will it take for them to see what we see? WHY IS HE STILL PRESIDENT??????
I hope Trump loses in court. That will discourage future Presidents, and future administrations from implementing policies not approved by congress.
