I Am No Longer Monetized on TikTok
A powerful reminder of why we must continue to stand on the right side of history and why your support is more critical than ever.
Yesterday, TikTok sent me a notification alerting me to the fact that I have been kicked out of their creator payment program. Why? Because I promoted “sexually explicit content”. The content in question was my coverage of South Park’s trailer making fun of Donald Trump. In the trailer, they made a satirical graphic of Trump making fun of his “small p*nis,” and as a news creator, I covered it across all of my platforms (even Substack)! Little did I know that it was going to demonize my platform completely.
TikTok ignored my appeal where I denied posting sexually exploitative content because let’s be real, I cover the news. Of course, I am going to talk about South Park standing up to Donald Trump because that’s my job.
The Substack article I wrote about also went viral, as more than 1,400 of you liked it and thousands more engaged with it.
I understand how this is a very justifiable community guideline breach as well, if I had done it. But reacting and talking about a South Park trailer is not sexual exploitation of Trump, I mean, that’s just ridiculous.
I ask that you continue to support this work by sharing, subscribing if you're able, and helping amplify its reach. Together, we’re building a future grounded in justice, compassion, and human rights.
I’ve filed an appeal with TikTok to have my content restored, but they have rejected it. I’ll keep you updated as soon as there’s any news.
Thank you, sincerely, for standing with me in the face of growing censorship and resistance to human rights advocacy. Your support truly makes a difference.
Good for you for standing your ground. I absolutely hate bullies!
Integrity matters. I'm going to upgrade my subscription.
Good luck but TikTok generally sucks!
