This frustates me so much because i have litrally spoken so many people i know who voted for trump that act like this. Honestly it show how much hyper-individualized we are a nation. We are so individualized that people cannot understand nor are able to connect how their vote impacts them or communities that would be close to them.

So sad, I completely agree with you. 0 sense of community

And the sad reality is they had the information in front of them but made the judgement of “oh i dont think it will affect me so i am not worried” “hes only targeting the “bad people”.

I have no intention of using the forgiveness I have used through my life on people who voted for Trump. He never hid his cruel, hateful, racist agenda. WTH did they think? Why are so many people motivated by cruelty in America. It shames all Americans.

Those “so many people” are largely motivated by racism - particularly anti-Black racism.

There’s even a historical precedence for it: it’s called the white backlash against Civil rights, and it’s been raging for two generations.

They won’t believe it till something happens to them. And I’m convinced that there is a small group of them that are so down in the trenches that even if something bad happens to them they still won’t blame Trump. Or believe he’s wrong.

No sympathy for the willfully ignorant, celebrity-dazzled, bigoted, selfish nationalists. A good illustration of the failure of democracy.

There will be tons of more stories like this. Keep it coming. I like a good laugh. These people deserve no sympathy. You get what you give.

I’m honestly torn between sympathy and “i told you so” …
