Republican lawmakers in North Carolina recently introduced an extremist piece of legislation that would amend North Carolina’s constitution to declare that a “distinct and separate human life” begins when an egg is fertilized and must be protected under state law from that moment forward
Women will only realize how dangerous this is if they are told what it entails for all child bearing age women. It could mean lack of medical attention for ectopic pregnancy and even imprisonment for having a miscarriage. It will probably end getting a D&C after a miscarriage and the danger of hemorrhage. And fertilized eggs will be a hideous divorce problem.
This guy and all the rest of the people supporting the conception begins at fertilization myth need to go back to (or to attend their first) science class. The egg and sperms often fertilize without producing an embryo. The embryo stage also often ends before the fetus stage. People can regret losing the "life" created in this momentary joining of egg and sperms, but they need to understand the basics of conception and a child being carried to full term.
