Trump Organization Tried to Bring About 200 Immigrant Workers to America
You read that right!
Kind of INSANE given how his administration is wreaking havoc with ICE agents arresting anyone that even remotely looks undocumented, but what else is new?
Trump’s family business increased their speed of hiring foreign workers on temporary visas this year. According to data that Forbes analyzed from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization tried to bring these workers to the US for temporary positions through H-2A and H-2B visas.
They submitted at least 184 applications, for servers, clerks, housekeepers, kitchen staff and farm workers. This was the highest submitted by the Trump family business yet, way up from the 121 in 2021 when Trump’s first term in office came to an end.
This isn’t his first time either.
It’s his fifth time in the past 10 years that Trump has tried to bring more than 100 overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago according to data researched by the Palm Beach Post.
This normally wouldn’t even be a story that I would cover, because I believe in people coming to America to work. It’s supposed to be one of the pillars that built America… but Trump’s administration introduced a whopping $100,000 fee on H1-B visas for skilled foreign workers. He also restricted activities for the 55 million people in the US who already have US visas and new restrictive rules for foreign students and journalists.
The astounding, never ending hypocrisy is what forces my hand to type these newsletter updates, because people genuinely do not understand how much Trump does this on a daily basis.
It’s almost like what him and his administration preach means nothing and holds no value when it comes to his businesses.
In the past five years that Trump has been in office, according to Forbes, his organization has employed 566 foreign laborers, between his first term from 2017-2021 and during this year.
Ultimately, this isn’t about immigrants; it’s about how low Trump’s hypocrisy has become. This is further evidenced by Trump’s continued reliance on the same visa system that he has consistently made more expensive and harder to obtain for everyone else.
While students, reporters, skilled employees, and many legal immigrants are harmed by Trump policies, he silently submits multiple requests to fill his hotels and other businesses with guest workers. The fact that the contrast between Trump’s rhetoric and actions are so blatant indicates just how disconnected he is from reality; when the rules do not apply to a certain individual but rather to everyone else, you cannot call it a policy, you must call it a blatant display of hypocrisy.
As long as his actions continue to negatively affect lives, families, and futures, it MUST be pointed out every time that it occurs.
