recently posted this thread asking folks who aren’t from America what they think about Americans and the responses were fascinating. I wanted to go through some of them so that you can see them as well:I didn’t know what to expect when I opened the thread responses, but honestly it’s truly astonishing that we are here. I mean, given the history of this country and the perpetual lack of education it really shouldn’t be, but sometimes I feel like I am living in a fever dream.
America isn’t the only country that is headed towards fascism right now - Hungary, Argentina, Italy are all front runners as well. The only difference is that they are not considered to be a global super power, we are.
In my opinion, the worst part about this isn’t even electing Trump. It’s the lack of care that Americans are showing right now. In South Korea, the leader tried to impose martial law, and lawmakers made sure to immediately unanimously overturn it, the people went and rioted to make sure their elected officials were let in to vote for the overturning of the ruling, and now he has been sentenced for his actions.
You would expect that from America, but instead we live in an apathetic country. We live in a country that can completely disregard all of the raging racist things Trump has said solely because he is “good for the economy” (he’s not).
We are in deep trouble, there is absolutely no denying that. People need to actually get up and start protesting/mobilizing. It seems like the whole entire world can see this but us.
What is it going to take for us to realize?
America will wither and die if this continues. The country will never be the same again.
Everyone who is not a Trumper/maga agrees with you. I'm furious with all the idiots in my own country who voted for him. It is fascist shit happening. I'm a part of the resistance. Fighting the best I can.
