Israel is now Aggressively Attacking the West Bank
The West Bank is in flames as settler attacks and Israeli forces ramp up violence despite "ceasefire" passing
Almost immediately after the ceasefire began, settler attacks erupted in the occupied West Bank, and three days after the ceasefire announcement, Israeli forces started a major “operation” in the Jenin area of the occupied West Bank.
Since then, at least 15 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 50 injured by Israeli forces.
According to Palestinian media, last Tuesday, there were several air strikes while a large number of troops entered the city and its refugee camp. Drones, helicopters, and armored bulldozers followed them.
Israeli forces even shot and killed a 2-year-old Palestinian girl as a result of this coordinated step up military aggression.
The “Iron Wall Operation”
Separate from the settler attacks, Israel has also launched what they call the “Iron Wall” operation in the city of Jenin near the Jenin Refugee camp.
On Tuesday and Wednesday night alone, the Israeli military conducted 10 raids across the Jenin governate. Witnesses said that Israeli snipers surrounded the refugee camp as residents were allowed to leave from one exit; a number were strip-searched and arrested by Israeli forces.
Hundreds have been displaced from the refugee camp as locals try to resist the Israeli forces. The Israeli army claims the operations are aimed at “targeting militants to prevent them from regrouping.”
UNRWA estimates that about 2,000 Palestinians have been displaced, while describing the Jenin refugee camp as “nearly unhabitable”.
Intimidation tactics…
The evacuation orders came from speakers on drones shouting loud announcements over the camp, forcing almost all of the people there to evacuate while facing the high possibility of getting strip-searched, arrested, or, in some cases, injured/killed.
Israeli forces have also cut off the electricity for the majority of Jenin, leaving hospitals emergency services operating by a thread.
They’ve simultaneously set up multiple roadblocks in and around Jenin so they can stop fleeing residents and detaining them. Medics are having a hard time conducting their job, stating that it is “near impossible” to reach the wounded, leaving some to bleed out in the streets.
Palestinian Authority and Israeli Forces Working Together
There are reports of week-long raids conducted by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to target Palestinian resistance fighters in the Jenin camp (before the Iron Wall operation). The PA claims that the raids were an effort to “restore law and order”; many locals see this as a concerted effort to crack down against resistance efforts against active occupation.
The former head of Mossad and now a member of the policy group Commanders for Israel Security, Danny Yatom, acknowledged that there is “cooperation between PA security apparatus” and the Israeli forces.
There is no sign of the Iron Wall slowing down or stopping in the foreseeable future.
Donald Trump and the West Bank
Former presidential candidate Kamala Harris received around $9,403,300 from Israeli interest campaign funding, while Donald Trump received around $230,473,622. Trump received FAR more money compared to Harris, and that’s just a fact. I expect Trump to support more aggression, especially in the West Bank, for the foreseeable future.
In the article I published around 10 days ago, I argued that Donald Trump’s presidency will support aggressive West Bank violence and settler expansion. To my disappointment, I think I was right in that analysis.
Wrapping it up…
The ongoing military actions in the West Bank, particularly in Jenin, highlight a deepening humanitarian crisis fueled by both Israeli army operations and settler violence. The Israeli government's "Iron Wall" operation, coupled with aggressive tactics like airstrikes, raids, and roadblocks, has led to significant casualties, widespread displacement, and the destruction of vital infrastructure.
With no signs of de-escalation in sight and ongoing international political dynamics, especially in the U.S., this cycle of violence seems poised to continue, leaving the future of Palestine uncertain and the suffering of its people ongoing.
The international community must urgently address the situation, advocating for a genuine ceasefire and meaningful steps toward peace before the situation deteriorates further.
Israel is a terrorist state
Hmm..... You should use third-person pronouns in your journals. Like you used in part 'Donald Trump and the West Bank', 'We' instead of 'I'. But I literally love how you speak up for the Palestinians.
