History of my well-spent politically engaged (Flushing NYC) yoot taught me the few politically engaged don't tend to get tired of winning. The rest are not much invested in such activism, period. They have a life of distraction and wealth accumulation and predatory skills to sharpen and philanthropic bona fides to maintain. That leaves little attention, energy or sense of belonging to return to except for Membership tokens....
Ideally, no one would have to “rent” a place to call home because that is just a legal form of ROBBERY. Any and all money paid in the form of “rent” is a total LOSS for the person or family whose pockets are being picked by grasping landlords. Considering the amount of “rent” landlords fleece from the unfortunate, renters often remain trapped as such and poor. Thus, the wealthy not only hate the poor, they work hard to create them. Our social structures need to reflect this reality and change.
A staggering victory: not just for NYC, but for the Country. Congrats to the Big Apple! You’ve made us all proud! Now, we need to get rent control passed in Boston—& across America.

This is great news for New Yorkers!

If those landlords are so upset about lower profit margins, sell their buildings back to NYC for the city to manage rent. Problem solved.
